About

  • How did you first hear about cakepops? - I first heard about cake pops when I was shopping at Target.  I stumbled across a book that featured all kinds of fun, creative cake pops.  My daughters 3rd birthday was approaching so I decided it would be fun to make them for her birthday party.
  • What's your greatest inspiration when it comes to creating cakepops? - Looking through cake pop books or different photos.  I love seeing what people have done and trying to come up with my own creative ideas.

  • What are your interests and hobbies outside of cakepop making? - Besides taking care of my kids and doing things with them, I love to work out and build things.  I turned my basement into a playroom by creating a shelving unit with fabric bins and a lego table out of wood.  And, I painted a 20' chalk board on the back wall.  The kids love to play there!  And, I love that all of their toys are in the basement and not all over the house.
  • What's your favorite cakepop flavor so far? - Well, I'm a sucker for chocolate, but Id have to say the red velvet with the white chocolate.  It is an absolutely amazing combination of flavors!
  • Did you ever think you'd take up a second career in baking? - Never!!  My husband doesn't eat sweets, so I try not to keep them around the house, or Id eat them all!  I just have to have more will power now.
  • What's your favorite cakepop topping/design? - That's a tough one.  I love the sprinkles look. But, I think I'm starting to get the hang of drizzling, so that one is at the top of my list as well!
  • What type of cakepop art would you like to master that you haven't tried yet? - Characters.  I haven't tried any yet, but Im looking forward to having the chance!   I'm a perfectionist too, so I will do it over and over again until I get it right.
  • What are you most looking forward to as you grow your cakepop business? - Making people smile.  I love seeing reactions when they try one.  Kids love them, adults love them, its great!
  • How long does a typical cake pop order take to make? What do you do to pass the time while you're making them? - That usually depends on how many you want.  Small orders, 50 or less, can be done in a few hours.  But, larger orders might take a couple of days to a few days.  That's why I ask for a 1 week notice.  So, I have time to prepare the ingredients and get to making the cake pops!  The first part usually has about a 2 hour wait time, so Ill do some laundry, play a game with the kids, get the second part of the process ready, or just clean some around the house.
  • Have you had any funny reactions from people when you explain what a cakepop is? - Mostly, I get, "really cake on a stick?"  And, that usually includes a funny look.
